- The Royal Apartments: Lavish living quarters of the king and queen. The series of seven rooms each bear the name of a god and are lavishly decorated with beautiful paintings, sculptures, and furniture from the time.
- The Gallery of Battles: The largest room in the palace, it is dedicated to the military history of France, featuring 33 paintings depicting significant battles.
- The King’s Grand Apartment: Once used for court functions, this seven-room enfilade is decorated in a succession of colors represented by the sun god, Apollo.
2. The Gardens of Versailles
The gardens of Versailles are simply mesmerizing. Spanning over 800 hectares, these meticulously landscaped gardens are adorned with numerous fountains, sculptures, and geometrically designed flower beds.
