History

The Pura Besakih, also known as the Mother Temple of Bali, is located on the slopes of Mount Agung in Bali, Indonesia. It is the largest and holiest temple in Bali, with a history dating back over 1,000 years.

Visitors can reach Pura Besakih by car or motorbike from Ubud or Denpasar, which are the two main cities on the island of Bali. It is recommended to hire a local guide to navigate the winding roads and ensure you arrive safely at the temple.
