The Pura Luhur Lempuyang Temple, also known as the Gateway to Heaven, is one of the oldest and most sacred temples in Bali, Indonesia. Built on the slopes of Mount Lempuyang, this temple dates back to the 11th century and is an important part of Balinese Hindu culture.
To reach the Pura Luhur Lempuyang Temple, travelers can take a 2-hour drive from Denpasar to the temple entrance. From there, a steep climb up over 1,700 steps awaits to reach the main temple complex. It is recommended to hire a local guide for the trek.
Entrance fee to the Pura Luhur Lempuyang Temple is IDR 10,000 for local visitors and IDR 20,000 for international visitors. It is recommended to bring a sarong to cover your legs as a sign of respect when visiting the temple.
