Playa Sirena, also known as Mermaid Beach, is a stunning two-kilometer expanse of fine white sand located in Cayo Largo del Sur, Cuba. This tranquil beach is part of the Canarreos archipelago and is equipped with amenities such as restaurants, bars, and facilities for non-motorized water sports, making it a favored spot for both day trips and extended stays.
Although detailed historical information about Playa Sirena is scarce, it has gained prominence as a tourist hotspot in recent years due to its natural allure and the variety of activities available. A small dolphinarium was once operational here but ceased activities in 2017.
Travelers can reach Playa Sirena by flying into Cayo Largo from cities like Havana, Varadero, or Trinidad de Cuba. Once on the island, visitors can access the beach via taxis, shuttle services, rented ATVs or scooters, or by walking from nearby accommodations.
There is no entrance fee for Playa Sirena, but costs may apply for activities and services such as water sports equipment rental and dining. Boat excursions from hotels typically cost around CUC$85 per person.
