Butterfly Valley is a captivating natural sanctuary located along Turkey’s Mediterranean coastline. Known for its stunning scenery and a wide variety of butterfly species, it is an essential destination for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts.
The valley’s name dates back to ancient sailors who were mesmerized by the vibrant butterflies inhabiting the area. It remained largely untouched until the 1970s when it gained popularity among backpackers and nature aficionados. In 1995, it was designated as a nature reserve to protect its pristine environment, prohibiting any construction activities.
Visitors can reach Butterfly Valley by taking a boat from either Ölüdeniz or Fethiye. The boat journey itself offers picturesque views of the coastline, enhancing the overall experience.
The entrance fee to Butterfly Valley ranges from 17 TL to 20 TL.
