Lednice Chateau stands as the highlight of the Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape, showcasing a remarkable combination of Neo-Gothic architecture and beautiful natural surroundings. It serves as a favored weekend retreat for those who appreciate history and scenic beauty.
Initially constructed in the Baroque style, Lednice Chateau underwent a transformation into its current Neo-Gothic design between 1846 and 1858, led by architect Georg Wingelmüller. The chateau was in the possession of the Liechtenstein family from 1582 until 1945, marking its importance in their heritage.
Travelers usually reach Lednice from the nearby city of Brno, which features a major airport and excellent rail links. From Brno, visitors can take a bus or train to Břeclav and then switch to a local bus to arrive at Lednice.
Access to the chateau is granted through guided tours only. There are two primary tours available: the ‘Representative Tour’ and the ‘Princely Apartments’. Additional tours are offered for the greenhouse and children’s rooms. Tickets can be acquired online or at the venue.
