Perperikon is an ancient Thracian city located in the Eastern Rhodopes, near the town of Kardzhali in Bulgaria. It is believed to have been inhabited since around 5000 BC and was an important religious center in the region. The site contains remnants of a fortress, a palace, a temple, and other structures that offer insight into the Thracian civilization.
To reach the Ruins of Perperikon, visitors can take a bus or drive to the town of Kardzhali and then make their way to the archaeological site. The site is located about 15 kilometers northeast of Kardzhali and can be accessed by car or by hiking on marked trails.
