Ayder Plateau, nestled in the Rize province of northern Turkey, is renowned for its verdant landscapes, therapeutic hot springs, and vibrant cultural history. This picturesque location offers a peaceful getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Dating back to the 1300s, Ayder Plateau was originally established by settlers from the village of Hala. Initially serving as a rest stop for travelers journeying between plateaus, it gained popularity as a tourist destination after being designated as such in 1987.
The nearest airport to Ayder Plateau is in Trabzon, approximately 150 kilometers away. Visitors can rent a car at the airport and take the scenic Black Sea coastal road. Alternatively, public transportation is available from the Camlihemsin district, located 19 kilometers from the plateau.
While exploring the plateau is free, some activities like rafting and visiting the hot springs may have separate fees.
