Boldt Castle was commissioned by the wealthy hotel magnate George C. Boldt as a testament of love for his wife, Louise. Unfortunately, the work was halted before completion due to Louise’s sudden death in 1904. The unfinished castle remained abandoned until 1977 when the Thousand Islands Bridge Authority acquired the property and began restoration.
