Capilla del Hombre is a grand museum located in Quito, Ecuador, celebrating the human spirit and the challenges faced by the indigenous peoples of Latin America. The concept was brought to life by Oswaldo Guayasamín, a distinguished Ecuadorian artist, and was completed in 2002.
Oswaldo Guayasamín envisioned Capilla del Hombre in 1985, but it remained incomplete until his passing in 1999. The structure was finished three years later, serving as a homage to humanity and showcasing Guayasamín’s profound respect for the human spirit.
Located in Quito’s Bellavista neighborhood, Capilla del Hombre is best accessed by taxi or on foot, as it is close to the Casa Museo Guayasamín.
Entry to Capilla del Hombre includes access to the Casa Museo Guayasamín. Tours are offered in English, French, and Spanish, and are part of the ticket price.
