Claypotts Castle is a medieval tower house located in Dundee, Scotland. Built in the late 16th century, the castle is a well-preserved example of Scottish Renaissance architecture. It was originally constructed by John Strachan, a wealthy merchant, and has since passed through several different owners.
Claypotts Castle is easily accessible by car or public transportation. If traveling by car, the castle is located just off the A930 road, with ample parking available nearby. Those using public transportation can take a bus to the nearby Claypotts Interchange, from which the castle is a short walk away.
Admission to Claypotts Castle is free for all visitors. However, donations are welcome to help with the ongoing preservation and maintenance of the site. Guided tours are available for a small fee, with knowledgeable guides providing additional insights into the history and architecture of the castle.
