The Geosea Geothermal Sea Baths holds a rich history dating back to the 20th century. This place was discovered when locals found out that the warm sea water coming from the geo-borings made them feel rejuvenated and even healed their skin ailments. Ever since, countless people have enjoyed its benefits and the beautiful surroundings.

How to Get There

Reaching the Geosea Geothermal Sea Baths is a scenic journey. From the town of Husavik, head east along the coastline on road 87. The bath is situated right next to the Husavik Whale Museum, you can’t miss the landmark!

Ticket Information

Tickets can be bought both online and at the venue. Prices are as follows:

  • Adults (18 years and over) – ISK 6,490.
  • Children (under 16 years) – 3.290 ISK (0-5 year old free of charge)

Opening hours are from 12pm to midnight during the summer months, and from 12pm to 10pm in the winter.

Tips for Visiting

  • Do not use soap or shampoo in the baths – the water’s natural minerals are skin-friendly.
  • Make sure to bring a bathing suit and a towel, but these can also be rented.
  • Visit during different times of the day to enjoy a different atmosphere with each visit.
  • Remember to stay hydrated. Drinking water is available for free.
  • Apply sunscreen during sunny days, as the reflection from the water may amplify the UV radiation.
