The Pamukkale Hierapolis Archaeological Museum is a must-see attraction in Turkey, combining natural beauty with historical importance. Situated in the Denizli region, it forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hierapolis-Pamukkale.
The museum’s origins trace back to the 1970s when the Roman Bath Structure underwent restoration, leading to its inauguration as the Hierapolis Archaeology Museum on February 1, 1984. It houses artifacts from excavations in Hierapolis, Laodicea, and nearby areas, offering a glimpse into ancient civilizations.
Visitors can reach the museum by flying into Denizli Çardak Airport or taking a bus from major Turkish cities. The site is accessible through three entrances: one in Pamukkale town and two at the top, which are more convenient for those traveling by car.
The admission fee for foreigners is approximately €30 as of September 2024. This fee includes access to the museum, Hierapolis ruins, and Pamukkale travertines.
