Jadu is a vibrant new addition to the Jamaica Plain neighborhood, blending the warmth of a daytime café with the charm of a wine bar by evening. Owned by Maya Mukhopadhaya, it draws inspiration from gathering spaces around the world — chai stalls in Mumbai, seaside lunches in Beirut, and tapas bars in Barcelona — while grounded firmly in local community. It’s designed as a “third space” to linger, connect, or unwind.
The “Breakfast Sammy” is a must for its daytime charm — rich, savory, and satisfying. The Turkish-style eggs offer both comfort and flavor. For drinks, the masala chai and the cardamom-clove latte stand out. In the evening, snacks paired with thoughtfully chosen wine selections make for a cozy night out.
The interior is modern, clean, and welcoming — minty tones, warm wood, plenty of natural light. By day it’s relaxed and bright; by evening it transitions into a more intimate wine bar setting, all while remaining friendly, inclusive, and community-focused.
Daytime fare is generally in the $10–$20 USD range for breakfast and lunch items. Drinks (coffee, chai, specialty lattes) fall in the lower-mid range. Evening small plates and wine will go higher depending on selection.
Visit in the late afternoon during brunch-lunch hours to capture the space when it’s peaceful and the light is gentle. And if you can stay into the wine-bar hours, the transformation in mood and menu makes for a delightful evening twist.
