History

Located on the Isle of Skye in Scotland, Kilt Rock is a famous sea cliff that rises to a height of 200 feet. The unique rock formation gets its name from the pattern on the cliff face, which resembles the traditional pleats of a Scottish kilt. The cliff is made up of basalt columns that were formed millions of years ago by ancient volcanic activity.

How to Get There

To get to Kilt Rock, visitors can drive or take a bus to the viewpoint located on the A855 road near Staffin. The viewpoint offers panoramic views of the cliff, as well as the nearby Mealt Waterfall cascading down into the sea.
