History

Lake Havasu was created with the completion of Parker Dam in 1938 by the Bureau of Reclamation. It primarily serves as a water storage reservoir for the Colorado River Aqueduct that supplies water to Southern California. Its most famous landmark, the London Bridge, was brought over from London and reconstructed at Lake Havasu in 1971. This unique attraction helped to transform the area into a popular tourist spot.
