The Painted Monasteries of Bucovina are a series of eight Eastern Orthodox monasteries located in the northeastern region of Romania. These monasteries were built in the 15th and 16th centuries and are known for their stunning exterior frescoes which depict religious scenes and figures.
The Painted Monasteries of Bucovina are located in the northern part of Romania, near the town of Suceava. The easiest way to reach the monasteries is by flying into Suceava International Airport and then renting a car or taking a bus to the monasteries.
Most of the monasteries in Bucovina are open to the public and do not charge an entrance fee. However, it is customary to leave a donation to help with the upkeep of the monasteries.
