Moore Hall was built by George Moore in 1795 on Muckloon Hill overlooking Lough Carra. The house was once a self-sufficient estate with a bakery, laundry, forge, greenhouses, and living quarters for servants. Unfortunately, the house was torched on February 1, 1923, by an armed anti-treaty group during the Irish Civil War, leaving only the thick walls and servant tunnel intact.
