Puente Angostura, or Angostura Bridge, is a remarkable piece of engineering located in Ciudad Bolívar, Venezuela. As one of the country’s most significant bridges, it offers a breathtaking view of the Orinoco River below.
Opened to the public in 1967, Puente Angostura was the first bridge across the Orinoco River. Named after the city’s old name, Angostura, it was for over four decades, the longest bridge in Venezuela until it was surpassed by the Orinoco Bridge in 2006.
The bridge is located in Ciudad Bolívar and can be reached by local buses, taxis, or private vehicles from anywhere in the city. It also connects Ciudad Bolívar with Soledad on the other side of the Orinoco River.
There is no entrance fee to walk or drive across Puente Angostura. It’s open to the public all year round.
