Rupite Protected Area is located in Southwestern Bulgaria near the town of Petrich. It is famous for being the home of the late Bulgarian mystic Baba Vanga, who was believed to have had psychic abilities. The area is also known for its thermal springs and stunning natural beauty.
The easiest way to reach Rupite Protected Area is by car. It is about a two-hour drive from Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. You can also take a bus from Sofia to Petrich and then a taxi to Rupite.
1. St. Petka Church – This beautiful church was built in honor of St. Petka of Bulgaria and is a popular pilgrimage site.
2. Baba Vanga’s House – Visit the home of the famous Bulgarian mystic and learn about her life and predictions.
3. Thermal Springs – Relax in the healing waters of the thermal springs located in the area.
Entrance to Rupite Protected Area is free of charge. However, there may be a small fee to enter some of the attractions within the area.
