The Amarnath Cave, located in Kashmir, is a famous pilgrimage site for Hindus. It is believed to be around 5,000 years old and holds great religious significance. The cave is dedicated to Lord Shiva, one of the principal deities of Hinduism.
Travelers can reach the Amarnath Cave by first flying into Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir. From there, they can take a bus or hire a taxi to Pahalgam, the base camp for the pilgrimage. The cave is then accessible by trekking from Pahalgam or Baltal.
Entry to the Amarnath Cave is free of charge for pilgrims. However, they must obtain a permit from the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board before starting the pilgrimage. The permit is required for security and crowd control purposes.
