Sopot virgin monastery “Introduction of the Virgin” (Metoha) is was built in the 15th century. In its courtyard there is a 350-year-old vine, which is considered to be the same age as the monastery, and is also the oldest in South-Eastern Europe. The Sopot waterfall is about 15m high and is easily accessible.
Travelers can reach Sopot by train, bus or car from major cities in Bulgaria such as Sofia or Varna. Once in Sopot, the Sopot Virgin Monastery of the Introduction (Metoha) and the Sopot Waterfall are easily accessible by public transport or on foot.
