Located in the heart of New Delhi, India, Sunder Nursery is a historic, 16th-century heritage garden park spread over 90 acres. It beautifully blends nature, culture, and history and ranks as Delhi’s first arboretum, making it an urban oasis for nature lovers and heritage enthusiasts.

History

Originally known as Azim Bagh, Sunder Nursery dates back to the 16th century and was used for propagating rare plants during the British era. It underwent a decade-long renewal and was revitalized by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture in collaboration with the Central Public Works Department in 2018, transforming it into a splendid heritage park.

How to Get There

Sunder Nursery is situated adjacent to Humayun’s Tomb, near Nizamuddin. The nearest metro station is JLN Stadium on the violet line. From there, it’s a short taxi or auto-rickshaw ride away. Parking facilities are also available for those visiting by car.
