The Zeugma Mosaic Museum in Gaziantep, Turkey, is an essential destination for enthusiasts of ancient history and art. Known as one of the largest mosaic museums in the world, it houses a remarkable collection of Roman and Late Antique mosaics.
The museum’s history is intricately linked to the ancient city of Zeugma, which was submerged due to the construction of the Birecik Dam. To safeguard its cultural legacy, numerous artifacts were salvaged and are now exhibited at the museum. The museum opened its doors on September 9, 2011, and has since become a prominent cultural site.
Visitors can reach the Zeugma Mosaic Museum by flying into Gaziantep Airport and then taking a taxi or bus to the museum, located in the MithatpaÅŸa District of Åžehitkamil. Alternatively, driving from nearby cities such as Adana or Aleppo is an option.
The entrance fee is approximately 20 Turkish Lira for adults.
