Perched along Slovenia’s scenic coastline, Mesečev Zaliv or Moon Bay is a natural wonder that evokes charm and tranquility. Home to one of the most beautiful beaches of the Adriatic Sea, its crescent-shaped bay and emerald waters lend to the lunar name.
With scars from the quarrying activities of the 19th and 20th centuries, nature triumphed over adversity, transforming Mesečev Zaliv into a breathtaking paradise. Over time, the area regained its ecological balance and has become a haven for diverse flora and fauna.
Mesečev Zaliv is located near the town of Strunjan. Easily reached by foot via a beautiful nature trail from Strunjan, visitors can also access the beach by boat from the neighboring towns of Piran and Izola.
There is no admission fee to Mesečev Zaliv or the beach; however, parking in the nearby Strunjan area can have associated fees.
