Arab Street in Singapore is a lively spot that mixes Malay and Muslim traditions with a bustling scene of shops, eateries, and entertainment. Nestled in the Kampong Glam district, it was once home to Malay royalty. Arab Street got its name from an Arab merchant who owned the land. Despite Singapore’s modernization, it still holds onto its old-world charm, making it a great place to wander around. To reach Arab Street, public transport is your best bet. The closest MRT stations are Bugis and Nicoll Highway, and from there, it’s just a short walk.
The street/area itself is free to walk down of course. Ticket prices vary by attraction. The Sultan Mosque and Malay Heritage Centre usually don’t charge, but donations are welcome. Restaurants and cafes are pay-as-you-go.
