The Church of Virgin Mary located in the heart of the city dates back to the 19th century and is a stunning example of Bulgarian Renaissance architecture. The Stanislav Dospevski House Museum is the only museum in Bulgaria dedicated to a Renaissance artist. Dospevski was one of the first Bulgarian artists and icon painters with an academic education. He became the founder of secular portrait painting in the second half of the 19th century. The Regional Museum of History showcases artifacts and exhibits that highlight the rich history and culture of the region.
Pazardzhik is easily accessible by car, bus, or train from major cities in Bulgaria. From Sofia,the capital of Bulgaria is about an hour with car.
