Diocletian’s Palace is an ancient palace built by the Roman emperor Diocletian at the turn of the fourth century AD. The palace served as the retirement residence for Diocletian, who abdicated the throne in 305 AD. Over the centuries, the palace has been repurposed and transformed into a bustling city center, with shops, restaurants, and homes lining its narrow streets.
Diocletian’s Palace is located in the city of Split, Croatia. The easiest way to reach Split is by flying into Split Airport and then taking a taxi or bus into the city center. Once in Split, the palace is easily accessible on foot.
There is no entrance fee to enter Diocletian’s Palace, as it is an open-air attraction. However, some of the individual attractions within the palace may have entrance fees, so be sure to check before entering.
