History

Diocletian’s Palace is an ancient palace built by the Roman emperor Diocletian at the turn of the fourth century AD. The palace served as the retirement residence for Diocletian, who abdicated the throne in 305 AD. Over the centuries, the palace has been repurposed and transformed into a bustling city center, with shops, restaurants, and homes lining its narrow streets.
