Located in the heart of the magnificent Yellowstone National Park, Hayden Valley is a paradise for nature lovers and wildlife observers. Hayden Valley is named after Ferdinand Vandeveer Hayden, a geologist who conducted a survey of the Yellowstone area in the late 19th century. The valley was once covered by a vast lake, remnants of which can be seen today in the form of the Yellowstone River and the many thermal features scattered throughout the area.
Hayden Valley is located in the central part of Yellowstone National Park. The nearest airport is Jackson Hole Airport, approximately 75 miles south of the park. From the airport, travelers can rent a car or take a shuttle bus to the park. Once inside the park, Hayden Valley can be easily reached via the Grand Loop Road.
Entrance to Yellowstone National Park costs $35 per vehicle, valid for seven days. This includes access to Hayden Valley. For $70, an annual pass for Yellowstone National Park can be purchased. Please note that all prices are subject to change.
