Situated in the Westfjords region in the north-west of Iceland, Hornstrandir Nature Reserve is an untouched paradise for nature lovers. Known for its steep cliffs, extraordinary panoramic views, and lush vegetation, it’s an ideal destination for those looking for solitude and tranquility.

History

Established in 1975, Hornstrandir Nature Reserve is an area of 58,000 hectares that was once home to farming communities until the 1950s. Now, it remains uninhabited with only ruins of farms and abandoned buildings articulating human history.
