Petrin Tower, situated in Prague, Czech Republic, is an essential destination for those fascinated by history and breathtaking views. This iconic structure has attracted visitors since its inauguration in 1891.
The design of Petrin Tower was inspired by the Eiffel Tower, following a visit by members of the Club of Czech Tourists to the Exposition Universelle in Paris. Construction commenced in March 1891 and was completed by August of the same year, just in time for the Prague Jubilee Exhibition. Standing at 63.5 meters tall, it is often referred to as the Little Eiffel Tower, although it features an octagonal base, unlike its Parisian counterpart’s square base.
Visitors can reach Petrin Tower by taking the tram to the Petřín stop, followed by a walk up Petřín Hill. Alternatively, a funicular railway provides a scenic ride from the base of the hill to the tower’s location.
Tickets for Petrin Tower generally include access to the observation deck. Prices may vary based on the season and any special exhibitions taking place.
