Saint Monans is a charming village located on the east coast of Scotland. It is named after Saint Monan, who was a monk who lived in the area during the 9th century. The village has a rich history of fishing and maritime trade, and visitors can still see remnants of its past in the old buildings and harbor.
Saint Monans is easily accessible by car, bus, or train. If driving, it is about a 1.5-hour drive from Edinburgh and a 2-hour drive from Glasgow. There are also regular bus services that run from nearby towns, and the nearest train station is in the town of Leven, about 6 miles away.
Most attractions in Saint Monans are free to visit, including the windmill, church, and harbor. However, donations are always welcome to help with the upkeep of these historic sites. The Fife Coastal Path is also free to walk along.
