- Yes — the entire planner, including the AI day generator and PDF export, is free for signed-in users. No credit card, no trial, no paid tier. We make money from affiliate links and a small travel-goods shop, not from charging you to plan.
- Do I need an account to use the free trip planner?
- To save and share trips, yes — we need somewhere to store them. Browsing places and reading travel guides doesn't require an account. Signup takes about 10 seconds with email or Google.
- How does the AI know what to suggest?
- The AI generator reads your destination + any items already on the day, finds gaps (time-of-day, cuisine variety, geographic flow), then proposes 5-7 archetypes. We resolve each to a real venue — checking our 7,000+ curated catalog first, falling back to Google when we don't have one. Sources are labelled so you know what's curated vs. found live.
- Can I plan a trip with friends?
- Yes. Invite collaborators by email or username — they can add, edit, and reorder items in real time. The owner decides who joins and can remove access anytime.
- Will my trip work offline?
- Use the PDF export — it includes everything (items, addresses, business hours, your notes) and works anywhere. The web app itself needs a connection.
- Can I book hotels and tours from the planner?
- Yes — for any item marked as your overnight stay, we surface a Book on Expedia button with your trip dates pre-filled. For activities, we show curated Viator tours nearby. Both are affiliate links; clicking them helps fund the free planner without costing you a cent.
- What if my trip covers multiple cities?
- Just mention them in your prompt — “3 days in San Francisco with a night in Santa Rosa” — and the AI splits the itinerary across cities with accurate driving distances between days. Add cities manually later in the editor if your plans shift.
