Botev Peak is the highest peak in the Balkan Mountains, standing at 2,376 meters above sea level. It is named after Hristo Botev, a Bulgarian poet and revolutionary who fought for Bulgaria’s independence in the late 19th century.
Botev Peak is located in the central part of Bulgaria, near the town of Kalofer. The most common way to reach the peak is by hiking from the village of Kalofer, which takes about 6-7 hours one way.
There is no entrance fee to visit Botev Peak, as it is a natural landmark in the Balkan Mountains.
