A trip to San Marino is incomplete without a ride on the Cable Car San Marino, or the Funivia as it’s known locally. Riding high amidst the clouds, the cable car offers a panoramic view of the stunning landscapes of this oldest republic in the world.
History
The operation of the cable car in San Marino kickstarted in 1959, replacing the previous electric tram. It offers a direct and convenient connection between the city of San Marino (on Mount Titan) and Borgo Maggiore down in the valley.
How to Get There
The cable car station is located in the historic city centre of San Marino. If arriving from outside the city, public transports like buses are available from Rimini and other nearby areas to the city of San Marino. The lower cable car station in Borgo Maggiore is a short and easy walk from the town’s bus station.
