Kaliakra Headland is a long and narrow headland located in the Northern part of the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast. It has a rich history dating back to ancient times when it was a major fortified settlement. Over the centuries, it has been controlled by various rulers, including the Byzantines, Bulgarians, and Ottomans.
Kaliakra Headland is easily accessible by car from the nearby town of Balchik. There are also organized tours available from Varna and other nearby cities. The headland is located about 60 kilometers northeast of Varna.
Entrance to the Kaliakra Archaeological reserve is not expensive. There may be a small fee for visiting some of the attractions on the headland.
