Samuil’s Fortress, located between mountains Belasiza and Ograjden-5 km north to village Kliuch.Dates back to the 11th century and was built by Tsar Samuil of Bulgaria. The fortress served as a strategic military stronghold and played a significant role in the region’s history.

Visitors can reach Samuil’s Fortress by taking a bus from Petrich or by a car. The fortress is situated at a distance of about 20 kilometers from Petrich city (near 33 km of Е 79 road), near the international road to Macedonia – checkpoint Zlatarevo..
