The Shipka Memorial is located in Shipka Pass, Bulgaria, and was built to honor the soldiers who died for the liberation of Bulgaria during the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878. The memorial complex consists of a towering monument and a museum that showcases artifacts from the war.
The Shipka Memorial is easily accessible by car or bus from major cities like Sofia and Plovdiv. If driving, take the A1 highway and follow signs for Shipka Pass. If taking a bus, there are regular services from Sofia Central Bus Station.
Admission to the Shipka Memorial complex is free of charge. However, donations are welcome to help with the upkeep of the site.
