Villa Rufolo is a breathtaking historical and cultural gem nestled in Ravello on Italy’s Amalfi Coast. Known for its enchanting gardens and impressive architecture, it’s a must-see for history buffs, architecture enthusiasts, and nature lovers. The villa’s origins trace back to the 13th century when it was constructed for the affluent Rufolo family. Over time, it has been home to several prominent figures, including popes and King Robert of Anjou. In the 1800s, Sir Francis Neville Reid, a Scottish botanist, acquired and restored the villa, also designing its splendid gardens.
Visitors can reach Villa Rufolo by taking Sita buses to Ravello. Taxis are another option, or you can travel by sea to Amalfi from Salerno and continue to Ravello.
Entrance fees are typically around 8 to 10 euros. Tickets must be purchased on-site as online sales are not available.
