El Nicho Waterfalls is a stunning natural wonder nestled in Cuba’s Escambray Mountains, within the Topes de Collantes Natural Park. Celebrated for its beauty since the early 20th century, the area gained official protection in the 1980s. Fed by the Rio Hanabanilla, these waterfalls offer a peaceful retreat from Cuba’s more crowded tourist destinations.
Visitors typically begin their journey from either Cienfuegos or Trinidad, both of which are approximately the same distance from the waterfalls. The trip includes a picturesque drive through the countryside. While independent visits are possible, guided tours can be advantageous due to the limited signage in the area.
The entrance fee for El Nicho Waterfalls is 10 CUC per person. A restaurant on site serves meals from 12:00 to 17:00, and public restrooms are available.
