Heraclea Sintica is an ancient city in today’s Southwestern Bulgaria, the ruins of which are located on the land of the village of Rupite, Petrich municipality, on the southern slope of the volcanic hill Kozhuh. It is located 2 km from the temple of Vanga in the area of Rupite and 10 km from the town of Petrich.In ancient times, the city was the center of the region of Sintika, inhabited by the Thracian tribe Sinti.
The easiest way to reach Heraclea Sintica is by car or bus from Sofia, the capital city of Bulgaria. The journey takes about 3 hours by car and 4 hours by bus. Alternatively, you can take a train to Petrich and then a taxi to Heraclea Sintica.

p>Entrance to Heraclea Sintica is free of charge for all visitors. However, donations are welcome to support the ongoing preservation and maintenance of the site. Guided tours are available for an additional fee, and can be booked in advance.
