History

El Castillo, also known as the Temple of Kukulcan, is a Mesoamerican step-pyramid located in Chichen Itza, Mexico. It was built by the Mayan civilization and served as a temple dedicated to the feathered serpent god, Kukulcan. The structure is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a popular tourist attraction.
