The Museum

Opened in 2016, the museum’s engaging digital technology enthralls visitors with the compelling narrative of Irish emigration, unfolding over 20 themed galleries. Each gallery offers an immersive experience, with plenty of interactive exhibits designed to engage visitors of all ages.

What to See

You begin your journey through the museum with a ‘passport’, collecting stamps from each gallery as you progress. The exhibits cover the causes of Irish emigration, the journey, and the influence of the Irish diaspora globally.

From listening to melancholic Irish music, finding your Irish roots, exploring the different reasons for departure, to understanding the impact of Irish emigrants on the world, the museum offers a wide range of experiences.

Noteworthy features include the interactive sports gallery highlighting Ireland’s international sporting heroes, and the gallery dedicated to ‘The Eternal Flame.’ The latter pays homage to notable Irish emigrants who’ve made significant contributions to global civilization.
