ESTE Park, also known as Parque del Este, officially named Generalissimo Francisco de Miranda Park, is a haven of nature in Caracas, the capital city of Venezuela. Home to diverse fauna and flora, a planetarium, and a lagoon, it’s a place where visitors find tranquillity amidst the bustling city.
Designed by the Venezuelan architect Roberto Burle Marx and opened to the public in 1961, the park spans an area of 82 hectares. It’s named after Francisco de Miranda, a precursor to the Venezuelan independence. Over the years, the park has undergone numerous enhancements to facilitate local biodiversity.
Located in the Sucre Municipality district, the park can be reached by metro with the nearest station being Miranda. Local buses and taxis also serve routes to the park. Car parking is available in the vicinity for those who prefer to drive.
Entry to the park is free, yet attractions such as the planetarium or paddle boats may require a nominal fee.
