Machu Picchu is a 15th-century Inca citadel situated on a mountain ridge 2,430 meters (7,970 ft) above sea level. It is perched above the Sacred Urubamba River Valley in a narrow saddle between two sharp peaks. It is considered one of the most famous and spectacular sets of ruins in the world. It is a place to learn about the interesting history of this area and observe astonishing views around the valley.
