Sanchi Stupa is a Buddhist complex located in Sanchi, near Bhopal in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. It was built by Emperor Ashoka in the 3rd century BCE and is one of the oldest stone structures in India. The stupa was originally constructed to house the relics of the Buddha and has since become an important pilgrimage site for Buddhists.
How to Get There
Visitors can reach Sanchi by taking a train to Bhopal and then a taxi or bus to Sanchi, which is located about 46 kilometers northeast of the city. There are also buses that run directly to Sanchi from nearby towns and cities.
