Boasting a sprawling 212 feet, Shoshone Falls Park, often dubbed the “Niagara of the West,” is one of the record-breaking natural wonders in the United States. Located in southern Idaho, this waterfall on the Snake River offers breathtaking views and a range of recreational activities for all visitors.

Location:

Shoshone Falls is situated just northeast of the city of Twin Falls, Idaho. It’s easily accessible via a short drive from Twin Falls along the picturesque Snake River Canyon.

  1. Viewpoints: The park offers several excellent viewpoints for admiring the falls. Check out the panoramic vista and feel the water spray on your face from the observation deck.

  3. Hiking & Swimming: For adventure seekers, there are numerous trails around the park, and a swimming area is available for a quick dip on hot summer days.

Hours:

The park is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week, weather permitting.

  • The falls are at their most spectacular during the spring and early summer when water levels are highest.

  • Use sunscreen and stay hydrated, especially during summer months.

There are no dining facilities within the park; however, there are picnic areas if you want to bring your own food. A gift shop is available on-site for memorabilia and souvenirs.
