The Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV), situated in Caracas, is not only Venezuela’s oldest university but also one of the most important higher education institutions in Latin America. History of Universidad Central de Venezuela

Founded in 1721 under the name “Real y Pontificia Universidad de Caracas,” this prestigious institution has fostered education, scientific research, cultural promotion, and social service in its three century existence. The campus itself, Ciudad Universitaria de Caracas, designed by architect Carlos Raúl Villanueva, was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2000 due to its architectural and cultural significance.

How to Get There

The UCV is primarily reachable via the Caracas Metro. The nearest Metro station is “Ciudad Universitaria.” Taxis and personal vehicle commutes are also common means to reach the University.
