The Titanic’s last departure dock was in Southampton, England. Southampton was the port from which the Titanic embarked on its ill-fated maiden voyage on April 10, 1912. After stopping in Cherbourg, France, and Queenstown (now Cobh), Ireland, the ship headed across the Atlantic Ocean towards New York City. Tragically, the Titanic struck an iceberg and sank in the early hours of April 15, 1912, resulting in one of the deadliest maritime disasters in history.
